These bidet models are designed to be installed by the user, obviating the need of a handyman. Exceptions
might be  cases where the supply tube from the shut off valve to the tank is made of metal or rigid material and
such rigid tube has to be replaced with a flexible  tank supply (7/8" by 3/8" compression by 16" ) hose available at
any hardware store, even at Walmart for about $3. The hose should at least be this long so that it will be pliant
enough to be looped and allow the insertion of the tee connector/adaptor with the least strain on the connector
joints.

As with any chore requiring a certain degree of manual skill, it will always be worth the time to read the
accompanying manuals -  including tips from this page - in order to  form a pretty good idea of what to do in order
to gain confidence in installing a bidet. In the end , and in most cases, you will even decide to do the job in a
manner that is most comfortable to you or feasible in your situation.

In general, however, the  first step in the installation process ( that is, after you have removed the toilet seat where
applicable ) is to install the tee adaptor and one end of the hose connector. This makes it simpler to install the
main body later on.

Tip: Before you unscrew the bottom part of the tank valve stem, take the tank cover off and hold the top of the stem
with one hand as you unscrew at the bottom part to maintain the same position and gasket seating. If a bit loose,
tighten the bottom plastic screw a little.

Tip: The plastic components must be installed only by hand, without using any tool. The gaskets should suffice to
withstand normal (about 30-40 psi) continuous pressure for years. If unsure of hand torque applied, wrap a piece
of cloth to reinforce your hold.

Tip: If in screwing in a connector, you feel stiff resistance after just two turns or so, STOP! You may be
experiencing a cross thread. Screw it out, inspect and try again, making sure the two parts are aligned. You
should not feel considerable resistance until you are about 3/4 of the way into the threads.

Tip: Do not use any tool in installing a bidet made of plastic as it will be difficult to approximate the torque applied.
Hand tightening  - with a little assist from a piece of cloth if desired  -  should be enough to press the lid of the
connector to the seal. No need for teflon pipe thread.

The rest of the process is rather simple....

1. Shut off water supply valve. Drain the tank supply.

2. Uninstall process. Remove the toilet seat cover by prying open the bolt covers with the flat tip of a screw driver
and unscrewing the two plastic bolts. (Does not apply to  SM-100 model; simply use suction cups to attach nozzle
assembly   to the flat surface of the bowl. You don't even need to take out the seat .)

3. Install the tee adaptor and one end of the hose as mentioned in an earlier paragraph.

4. Insert the main bidet body between the toilet seat and the bowl surface using the two bolts. Adjust the relative
positions for symmetry and tighten bolts.

5. Connect the other end of the supply hose to the bidet regulator part.

6. Gently open supply valve and regulator and test for leak.

Specific recommendations applicable to the SM-100 model in addition to the provisions in the manual.

Smart bidet   really lives up to its name: small, unobtrusive, innovative, of highest quality materials and
workmanship. It even has barely audible clicks for each pressure setting. Also, the water supply tube is just the
right size to  provide sufficient pressure and water volume  -  no overspray.

While the user is given the option of locating the compact regulator with the provided suction cup holder, Texas
Bidets recommends
the set and forget  option; that is, permanently attach the regulator holder to the side of the
bowl using the epoxy tube provided with the kit. Be sure to dry the surface thoroughly.  To ensure strongest
adhesion, let it set for at least 2 hours (Ignore the 5-minute claim; it merely means setting time.).
